Hello all ;)

For your informal letter corrections, please continue to follow the format we covered in class. Here it is again. Your letters have to be typed. Please include your first drafts. Staple your first drafts to the back of your typed, final drafts.

                                                                                 Your Address (2-3 lines)
                                                                                 Date (February 21, 2012)

Dear... (Your Friend´s Name),

"Sorry for not writing earlier, but...(say why you haven´t written)"

"The reason for my letter is...(tell your friend you started practicing a new sport)"

Tell your friend about the sport and  say when you practice, where you practice, how often you practice, etc.

Tell your friend the equipment you need (use the vocabulary you have in your notebooks).

"That´s all for now"

Best Wishes / Love / See you soon!

Your complete Name

PS (Write a sentence, something you forgot to mention in the body of your letter.)

Olympic Games Webquest

Your homework is to go to the following web page to find a topic to investigate in a team of 3.

http://www.gkonstantinou.com/webquest/credits.html

Click on "Process" and look at the blue box on the right. You´ll find 6 topics. Each topic has a list of questions you have to answer. Divide the work into the 3 team members. Each member has to investigate their part individually.
a) For homework, I asked you to go on the internet and print any information that will help you answer your questions. Highlight or underline the main points. Individual work. Don´t forget to write your name and your group #. (GATHERING)
b) Write your FIRST DRAFT. Print it. Make corrections with a red pen (REVISING). Individual work. Write your name and your group #.
c) Put your research together (team work). Write an introductory sentence (say what topic you´re investigating) and a conclusion (after your combined investigations, what do you conclude?) EDIT your teamwork together. Eliminate any unnecessary information and help each other correct any errors. Make your work as perfect as possible. Print this EDITED VERSION. Turn this in on Thursday February 23rd. This is your grade for Writing for this first period.
d) Type a checklist. Include each person´s research. Include each person´s corrected first draft. Include each person´s complete name and the topic your team investigated.
e) Make a time line of your research with images, dates and important concepts and phrases. This will help guide you during your Speaking presentation. Each person has to make a time line reflecting their research. Your team will have your team´s time line if you put each individual´s time line together. Time line is due Friday February 24th.
f) Your speaking is Friday February the 24th. No reading, please. You have to know your information.

To summarize, your final work includes:
Checklist (cover sheet)
3 Individual Investigations (highlighted/underlined)
3 Individual, typed First Drafts (corrected with a red pen)
Final writing, including an introduction and a conclusion which has been edited by the team.
Time-line, to which each member contributed a bit.
